Innocence- Pixel Perfect Photography Contest
This is my entry into the Pixel Perfect Photography Contest!
The theme is innocence of a child and I felt as though this image really captured the essence of that theme. To me, there is nothing sweeter than to see a sleeping baby. These tiny babies are so willing to be held, cuddled, and molded by us as parents, friends, family, and yes, even as photographers. I can't help but tear up each time I hold a brand-new baby, just a couple days old, and I marvel over each little finger and toe. And when she falls asleep and curls and coos each time I touch her soft skin... it makes me so thankful for what I do, for what I get to be a part of. Truly, the innocence of a child is one of the most beautiful things in life.

On her frequent hikes with her dog near the Yukon River just outside of Whitehorse, Heather has kept an eye on this nest for more than a year. “Last year I had the good fortune of watching two eaglets as they prepared for, and eventually took, their first flight,” she says. This year, after walking by a few times and seeing the parents sitting on the eggs, Heather finally got to snap this amazing photo. “The baby is no more than five or six days old! I believe this image captures the strength and fragility of our natural world in a beautiful and compelling moment.”
